Good evening girls,

Tonight, we are going to talk about the recent campaigns of clothing brands that want to change the fashion industry. The two campaigns that we are going to talk about are the campaign of “Missguided” and "Weekday".

Missguided

Missguided started a huge campaign named “#Keeponbeingyou”. They want to inspire women all over the world to love themselves the way they are with their flaws. And not to strive for what the world perceives as perfection (because perfection doesn’t exist!!!). Their mission is to inspire girls to feel confident in being themselves. They never retouch their models “imperfections”.

On the website you can meet the different girls who talk about their body and confidence. There are also little videos where they introduce themselves.

"Just be you. Do you. For you, babe."

Missguided has a blog where they launch new little campaigns part of the bigger campaign "KeepOnBeingYou". They launched #makeyourmark, #inyourownskin.

The models still have their stretch marks on the pictures on the website of the brand. They want to show that it's normal to have it. All clothing brands retouch their pictures and Missguided want to make a change.

"My favourite part of my body is genuinely my stretchmarks, after years of hating them, now I can actually see the beauty."

"Do not allow other people's opinions to become you!"

They collaborated with six empowering women that are inspiring because of their uniqueness. You can read their stories on the blog of Missguided. Over here.

One girl caught her shirt in a house fire when she was 17 and has scars on her body. Another girl with psoriasis. One born with a large birthmark on her face. Then, there is also a plus-size-model with albinism and lastly a red-haired model with freckles across her face and both freckles and tattoos on her body.

For example: this is Maya. She has the rare condition Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) which affects 5,000 people in the UK and 500,000 people worldwide. Maya’s positive attitude and outlook on life inspire her to raise awareness of the condition through modelling. She is a true figure of inspiration and empowerment.

Here is also an example of one of the girls: this is Maya.

Weekday

Weekday launched a new swimwear campaign with no restrictions and no compromises.

It's "My body. My Image." They gave 25 women complete creative control to create the sort of image they want to see in a swimwear shop. Here are some examples of the results:

So, as you can see, more and more brands are aware of this problem in the society. It's a good start to finally change it. We hope that more and more brands will be aware of this problematic and will do campaigns like Missguided or Weekday.
